Project 55 started on January 1st 2009 at 220lbs. It’s my plan to lose 55lbs and document my journey to healthy and happy.
I followed the weightwatchers plan and had dipped into the 180’s by May that year. Unfortunately, I lost momentum and the weightloss stalled, by the end of 2009 I was in the 190’s again. I successfully graduated from the Couch to 5k plan, which I started as a New Year’s Resolution and actually ran my very first half-marathon in September with a time of 2hours 37 minutes.
I struggled for the first half of 2010, and wasn’t enjoying running. I experimented with weightwatchers again but also did some half-assed attempts at the Cabbage Soup Diet and South Beach and did actually hit the 180’s again in May. For whatever reason, the 180’s seems to be my nemesis. Soon after dipping into those 180’s I was losing motivation and gaining weight. In fact, in July I saw some low 200’s again on my scale. I was horrified but still not 100% committed.
Now, I’m back on the weightwatchers bandwagon and ready to finish this project once and for all. I hope you’ll stick around for the ride!
